The works on the C-28 at the Bonaigua pass, which have involved traffic closures for a month, are causing user dissatisfaction due to the lack of schedule clarity. The mayors of Alt Àneu, Josep Rosell, and Esterri d'Àneu, Pere Ticó, have joined the concern, demanding "clarity, planning, and truthful information" in a situation they describe as a "lottery".
According to the mayors, the initial information from the Territorial Service of Roads of Lleida about 45-minute closures with 15-minute alternating passage has not been met. The reality is that closures can exceed an hour and a half, causing significant delays for people working between Pallars Sobirà and Val d'Aran. The mayor of Alt Àneu has denounced a "lack of planning" and that the information provided "has not been true", severely hindering mobility.
Pere Ticó, mayor of Esterri d'Àneu, has called for "real and truthful" information to prevent citizens from having to "speculate" about passage times. He stated that "it is impossible to plan" and criticized the "lack of information" regarding the progress of the works and the scheduling of closures, requesting clear communication for residents.
Users crossing the pass find no information until they reach the work area, where no personnel is available to clarify the duration. The existing signs in la Pobla de Segur and la Guingueta d'Àneu do not specify schedules, and the lights at the entrance and exit of the pass are not functioning. Tourists, although informed at their accommodations, were unaware of the exact duration of the closures.

Drivers like Francesc lament the lack of a "defined schedule" that would allow them to decide whether to wait or turn back. Others like Josep, who was sightseeing, encountered the closure with resignation but acknowledge the difficulty for those commuting to work. Antonio Ricou, a resident of Esterri d'Àneu, was late for a medical appointment in Val d'Aran due to a closure exceeding an hour, calling for "seriousness with schedules" despite understanding the need for infrastructure improvements.
The Bonaigua pass is the only direct connection between Pallars Sobirà and Val d'Aran. The alternative involves a much longer route via the Perves pass and the Vielha tunnel.
