This cultural initiative highlights a facility that recently achieved a significant milestone by being officially included in the Registry of Museums of Catalonia. The center stands as a living testimony to the salt exploitation that was the main economic driver of the Pallars Sobirà region for centuries.
The guided tour allows visitors to explore one of the few inland salt pans remaining in Catalonia. Through audiovisual resources, the visit explains the work carried out in the old warehouse and salt pan, including the grinding and storage techniques used before the activity was abandoned.
The building housing the museum has a multifaceted history; in the past, it served not only for industrial salt production but also hosted the local school and a small theater. The ticket draw will take place at the end of the month for those registered before February 25th.
