A hiker was rescued this Monday, March 16, after being caught in an avalanche in the Pallars Sobirà region, specifically between coll de Bassiero and Estany Gelat.

The emergency call was received at 2:06 PM from the victim's companion, who remained uninjured. The alert triggered an immediate response from mountain rescue teams.
Two Bombers de la Generalitat helicopters were deployed, carrying members of the Special Assistance Group (GRAE) and SEM medical staff, with support from the Pompièrs d'Aran.
The victim was located, stabilized on-site, and subsequently evacuated to Vall d'Hebron Hospital in Barcelona for medical treatment.
