Civil Protection issued emergency mobile alerts this Saturday across the Pyrenees, Alt Empordà, and Terres de l'Ebre due to a severe windstorm hitting Catalonia.

Wind speeds have reached 146.5 km/h in Mas de Barberans and 140 km/h in Portbou. Authorities in the Baix Camp and surrounding areas have advised citizens to avoid all outdoor activities and unnecessary travel during the peak of the storm.
The weather has disrupted Carnival celebrations in towns like Tremp, where parades have been moved to Sunday. Additionally, the Espot and Port Ainé ski resorts were forced to close, while heavy snow warnings remain active for the Pallars Sobirà region.
