The Meteorological Service of Catalonia (MeteoCat) has issued a warning regarding potential intense snowfall and strong winds in the Pyrenees, particularly in Pallars Sobirà and Val d'Aran, between Friday 9 and Saturday noon.

According to the published forecast, the snowfall will mainly concentrate in Pallars Sobirà, Val d'Aran, and Alta Ribagorça. It is expected that above 900 meters of altitude, more than 10 centimeters of new snow could accumulate.
Although the probability is 50 percent, solid precipitation could occasionally drop down to 700 meters and also affect neighboring regions such as Alt Urgell, Cerdanya, and Ripollès.
Regarding the wind warning, the strongest gusts are expected on the peaks of Cerdanya, Ripollès, Pallars Sobirà, and Val d'Aran, where speeds could exceed 70 km/h.
The wind alert, which already affected the Barcelona Metropolitan Area this Thursday, will extend across much of Catalonia on Friday. Strong gusts are also expected in Segarra, Anoia, Alt Penedès, Baix Penedès, and Baix Llobregat.
