The Rialp City Council has officially reopened the IPS-13 road, restoring the primary access to the village of Escàs after it was severely damaged by a landslide last August.

The repair project cost 224,300 euros, with the Diputació de Lleida covering 90% of the expenses. Works included rebuilding the road surface, stabilizing the mountainside, and installing a hybrid containment system to prevent future rockfalls in the Pallars Sobirà region.
For the past six months, residents of Escàs and Caregue were forced to take a detour through Llessui, adding 30 minutes to their daily commute. The completion of these emergency works restores direct and safe access to these mountain communities.
