A pair of skiers filmed a female brown bear with two cubs this Monday in the Tavascan mountains, located in the Pallars Sobirà region, as spring arrives.

The footage was recorded near the Tavascan ski resort, where tracks were also discovered. Despite significant snow accumulation on the peaks, the animals are emerging from their winter hibernation.
According to the Grup de Seguiment Transfronterer de l'Os Bru (GSTOP), there were 47 identified bears in the Catalan Pyrenees as of last April. A total of 10 cubs were born in Catalonia during 2024.
