Snow returns to low altitudes in Pallars, complicating mountain pass traffic

Snow returned to the Pallars Sobirà region this Friday, February 13, reaching altitudes as low as 700 meters and causing significant disruptions on several mountain roads.

The snowfall has affected towns like Sort and Baix Pallars. Major traffic issues were reported on the C-28 at Port de la Bonaigua and the N-260 at Port del Cantó due to ice and snow accumulation.

"Given this unannounced situation, we ask drivers to exercise extreme caution, especially on main roads."

The Catalan Traffic Service advises drivers to carry snow chains and keep fuel tanks full. The alert remains active for the Alta Ribagorça and Alt Urgell regions through Saturday.
