Consolidation work and installation of safety nets on a mountain road affected by landslides.

The Rialp City Council confirmed that emergency work to consolidate the mountain on the Escàs road will be extended for two more months, following the landslides that occurred in August.

The repair works for the Escàs landslide, which occurred in August, are the most complex and require more time due to their magnitude. Currently, a specialized sanitation company is working on site to install the necessary safety nets to consolidate the mountain.
Once this phase is completed, another company will take over the civil works, which include cleaning, rehabilitating the road surface, and installing new protections. This emergency action is valued at approximately 224,300 euros, of which the Diputació de Lleida is expected to cover 90% of the cost.
The most positive news comes from Caregue, where the actions to repair the wall affected by a collapse, also in August, are considered practically finished. The Mayor of Rialp, Gerard Sabarich, confirmed that vehicles can now circulate normally, with only the installation of a safety fence pending, scheduled for January.
Due to restrictions on the main route, the Sorre road, which connects the Vall d’Àssua from the municipality of Sort, has become a fundamental infrastructure. The Rialp City Council took advantage of the intensive use of this route to improve four kilometers of asphalt, ensuring safer and more comfortable access for residents of Caregue and Escàs.
