With the support of the Environment Department of the Diputació de Lleida, the new Forest Fire Prevention Plan for the municipality of Soriguera has been developed.
Soriguera is situated in a high-risk area for forest fires, encompassing 10,699.95 hectares, more than half of which is forest land. Given the current climate change scenario and new types of fires, the significant forest mass in the municipality considerably increases the risk, prompting administrations to prioritize prevention.
Considering that out of the forest hectares, 6,037.93 are publicly owned and, of these, 2,838.48 are municipally owned, an aid request was submitted to the Diputació de Lleida to draft this plan. The plan was drafted by the company Lignus Enginyers SCP and cost €4,840, of which the Diputació financed €4,000.
