Four Injured, Two Seriously, After House Collapse in Vilanova de Bellpuig

Four people were injured, two seriously, after a house collapsed on Carrer Major in Vilanova de Bellpuig, prompting the mobilization of Firefighters and the SEM early in the morning.

The alert for the incident was received at 6:18 a.m. on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, when the dwelling collapsed on Carrer Major in Vilanova de Bellpuig, located in the Pla d’Urgell region.
The Sistema d’Emergències Mèdiques (SEM) confirmed that two of the affected individuals suffered serious injuries and two others sustained minor injuries. The seriously injured were the two people who had initially been trapped under the rubble.

The rapid response of the emergency teams was crucial in freeing the two people who had been trapped under the rubble.

The Bombers de la Generalitat (Firefighters) deployed a large operation consisting of 16 units to carry out the rescue efforts. This deployment included specialists from the Collapsed Structures Group (GREC) and the canine unit.
The canine unit searched the area to rule out the possibility of more people being trapped under the remains of the building. Regarding medical assistance, the SEM activated four ambulances and a team of psychologists to attend to the victims and their families.
