The political parties Junts per Catalunya and Mollerussa Primer (Ara Pacte Local) formalized a coalition agreement yesterday for the upcoming 2027 municipal elections in Mollerussa.

The mayoral candidate will be Anna Carné, who currently holds the second position on the municipal list led by Marc Solsona. This alliance aims to consolidate the presence of both parties in the capital of Pla d'Urgell, after they each secured four councilors when competing separately in the 2023 elections, with Solsona's candidacy having a slight vote advantage.
Carné has emphasized her municipal group's freedom to form alliances based on the "realities and needs" of each territory, stating that the agreement with Junts signifies a "new era" for Mollerussa requiring "preparation and a leadership profile that is approachable, capable of listening to and caring for the city".
This understanding follows the incorporation of Junts councilors into the municipal government a year after the elections, joining the initial pact with the PSC. According to Carné, the "numerous experiences and work" shared with Junts over these years form the foundation for facing the future.

"The agreement with Junts is made because the capital of Pla d’Urgell is in a “new era” for which “preparation and a leadership profile that is close, that can listen and care for the city” are needed."

Meanwhile, the general secretary of Junts, Jordi Turull, welcomed the agreement, highlighting the shared "way of doing politics" that unites the two parties. He praised the work of Junts councilors in the City Council, who have prioritized being "useful to the people" over "personal egos".
