The CFJ Mollerussa secured a draw at the always difficult L’Hospitalet stadium where, against all odds, the Lleida side dominated the match thanks to maintaining control of the ball. This performance reflects the influence of coach Manel Cazorla, who has transformed the dynamic of the Pla d’Urgell team since his arrival.
Despite the 0-0 scoreline, the Mollerussa players were aggressive and showed great physical commitment. Defensively, Cazorla's men were very compact, preventing the home side from playing down the wings and disrupting play in the middle, keeping attacks away from Campanera's goal. Early in the first half, Folch nearly scored within the first minute of play.
The Lleida team, playing in blue for their third kit debut, continued to press for a goal in the second half, capitalizing on L’Hospitalet's growing nervousness due to the stalemate. A late press by Guillem Porta on the opposing goalkeeper, Aliaga, almost resulted in a winning goal in the final minutes.
“"We gain one point, and two slip away. I believe today was a very complete match and we deserved the victory. We lacked conviction in the rival area, but I am very happy with the effort of my players because competing at L'Hospitalet’s home ground is very difficult."
With this result, Mollerussa remains in 15th position in the league table with 17 points, staying just one point above the relegation spots, underscoring the importance of this crucial point for their survival hopes.
