The Mossos d'Esquadra located the owner of the collapsed house in Vilanova de Bellpuig safe and sound in another municipality in Lleida, hours after he signaled his whereabouts to his family.

The location of the man, who had initially assisted in the debris removal efforts, brought relief to the family and neighbors of Vilanova de Bellpuig. Apparently, the owner suffered a strong emotional impact due to the collapse, which resulted in four injuries. He was seen driving away in his vehicle and nothing had been heard from him until his recent location.
Given his disappearance, concern spread quickly. Neighbors organized on Thursday to undertake a search, coordinating with the Mossos d’Esquadra and the Bombers de la Generalitat (Firefighters). A coordination point was set up and later moved to the Town Hall assembly room, provided by the council to centralize the search operation.

"They have started tearing down the wall that was in danger of collapse, and they are doing it manually and controlled to avoid new incidents."

Dolors Pascual · Mayor of Vilanova de Bellpuig
Parallel to the search, the Vilanova de Bellpuig Town Hall began clearing the rubble from the damaged property. Mayor Dolors Pascual explained that the initial work consisted of removing the parts at highest risk of collapse and clearing the debris accumulated on the street. She added that everything indicates that it might be necessary to demolish the entire building, pending technical inspection. Regarding the injured, the four workers affected by the incident have already been discharged from the hospital.
