On Monday, October 19th, students from the Elemental 1 course at CPNL Girona visited Banyoles' giants and 'capgrossos', which were exhibited in the town hall's plenary hall in preparation for the upcoming local festival.

The visit was led by Mercè Vila Cruells, president of the Colla de Gegants, Capgrossos i Grallers de Banyoles. Vila explained the history of each giant and 'capgrossos' figure, from the oldest to the most recent, sharing curiosities and anecdotes.
Throughout the visit, students had the opportunity to ask questions about the tradition of giants, the construction process of the figures, parades, and gatherings of groups. One of the most celebrated moments was when students got to try on some 'capgrossos' and experience the tradition firsthand.
This was considered a very enriching experience, allowing students to connect with one of the city's most deeply rooted traditions and gain a deeper understanding of the elements that will feature prominently in the upcoming local festival.
