The network of trails around the Banyoles Lake has undergone various interventions to maintain its function as a space for walking and physical activity. The work included repairing surfaces, improving drainage, maintaining walkways, bridges, and steps, checking signage and fences, managing vegetation on the margins, and removing obstacles and waste.
These preventive actions aim to reduce risks, maintain the functionality of the paths, and concentrate visitor traffic on established routes, benefiting both users and natural habitats. The intervention involved a team linked to a special employment center, thereby promoting socio-labor inclusion.
The total investment was €28,010.98, with a contribution of €20,000 from DIPSALUT and the remainder covered by the Consorci de l'Estany.
Maintaining the trails is an ongoing task to meet the needs of an extensive and heavily used network. Through these efforts, the Consorci contributes to sustaining this public service, which promotes physical activity and citizen well-being, as well as the conservation of the natural values of the lake's surroundings.
