Members of Roko Banana, Mak Dzinovic (guitar and vocals) and Edu Rodríguez (bass and vocals), have shared insights into their latest album, Gran muralla. This work, which also features Àlex Abad on drums and vocals, delves into concepts such as stones, paths, and walls, using them as metaphors to discuss human experiences and personal connections.
Roko Banana's distinctive sound is maintained throughout the album, characterized by powerful guitars and emotionally resonant melodies. A notable track is ‘Esport’, which includes a collaboration with Remei de Ca la Fresca, adding a female voice and perspective that highlights themes of resistance and collectivity.
The wall not only protects: it also connects and creates unique live experiences.
The album's presentation concert is scheduled for Thursday, April 2nd, at La Nau, where Grup de Ties will perform as the opening act, promising an energetic live show. Attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy tracks such as ‘Les pedres’, ‘Haru’, and ‘La pena i l’alegria’, all part of Roko Banana's repertoire.
The trio has established itself within the Catalan alternative scene through its blend of math rock and indie rock, featuring vibrant melodies and lyrics that celebrate friendship, resilience, and solidarity, consistently maintaining their authenticity and intensity in live performances.
