According to a statement issued by the group, this measure does not address the lack of public places for the first educational stage, which currently has an approximate coverage of 22% in the municipality. This situation generates unmet demand and highlights the need for broader planning to ensure equitable access to this key cycle of child development.
“"This lack of public places has been partially sustained by neighboring municipalities and has been repeatedly denounced by opposition municipal groups; despite this, decisions such as the renunciation of external funding for the construction of a new facility have contributed to perpetuating this situation."
The proposal to incorporate these 40 I2 places into an ordinary educational center is seen as a "patch" rather than a definitive solution. The group argues that this partial integration does not ensure a complete educational project for the 0-3 age range, as the existing structure has not been specifically designed for this stage.
Furthermore, Esquerra Som Banyoles regrets that the decision was made unilaterally, without the transparency or shared planning they consider necessary. Therefore, they demand the urgent creation of a new nursery school that can be operational for the 2027-2028 academic year.
