The young student from the Pla de l'Estany region surpassed by one tenth four students from the Barcelona region, who scored 9.80. These include Martina Gutiérrez (Institut Vallès de Sabadell), Enric Sánchez (Col·legi Sant Josep de Sant Sadurní d’Anoia), Tomàs Alfonso Torralbo (Institut Torre del Palau de Terrassa), and Joan Torrecillas (Liceu Politècnic de Sant Cugat del Vallès).
In other parts of the region, Miquel Edo from Institut Baix Camp in Reus achieved a 9.7. In the Ponent area, Lucia Garcia from Institut els Planells d’Artesa de Segre recorded the highest mark with a 9.6.
This year's university entrance exams saw a record number of registrations, exceeding 45,000 students. The exams proceeded normally, despite the government's recommendations for remote work and the Pope's visit to Barcelona, which prompted some students to plan their travel in advance. The Department of Universities confirmed that there were no obstacles to holding the exams.
This academic year was marked by teacher protests, including five strike days during the last term. According to unions and director associations, most of these strikes occurred during revision classes, and many students chose to prepare for the exams independently. A strike by library staff also affected the weeks leading up to the PAU.
Overall, students described this year's exams as "manageable," although the physics and English listening comprehension tests presented greater challenges.
