This project, which began its activities last Friday, March 27, primarily aims to introduce literature to young children and provide families with tools to support them in this process. The first session, titled 'The Birthday Party', was led by Laura Bernis and captivated the audience with a blend of clown and puppets, telling the story of a butterfly celebrating its transformation with forest animals.
The 'Born to Read' cycle in Falset will include two additional sessions. The next event is scheduled for May 15 at 6 PM, featuring 'Playing with Bruno Munari', led by Angeles Ortega, where children and adults will explore books and games inspired by the artist's work. Subsequently, on October 3 at 11 AM, Montse Dulcet will lead 'Awakening Readers', a session for adults focused on enhancing shared reading and the linguistic and emotional development of babies using the Hanen method.
The 'Born to Read' program, promoted by the Servei de Biblioteques de Catalunya, emphasizes the importance of reading in early childhood and offers resources and guidance to families. It also encourages collaboration with health professionals, such as pediatricians and midwives, to foster reading as an essential habit from an early age. All activities are free and open to the public until full capacity is reached. The Falset Library also maintains its traditional 'Story Time' every Friday at 6:30 PM.
