The accident took place at kilometer point 47.8 around 12:45 PM. Emergency response teams, including three Fire Brigade units and four Medical Emergency System (SEM) ambulances, attended the scene.
One victim was airlifted by helicopter to Joan XXIII Hospital in Tarragona. Another seriously injured person and a third individual with minor injuries were taken to hospitals in Tarragona and Reus.
Authorities closed the C-242 in both directions during the rescue operations. Traffic was diverted to alternative routes until the road was cleared by emergency crews.
