The President of the Generalitat, Salvador Illa, sustained a muscular leg injury during his morning exercise and was taken to a hospital, leading to the cancellation of his Saturday agenda following a visit to Ascó.

The President of the Generalitat, Salvador Illa, was injured this morning while out for his usual run. Although he was already limping due to pain in his leg, he initially attended a scheduled closed-door visit at 10:30 a.m. at the Ascó Town Hall (Tarragona).

"Sources from the Presidency indicated that Illa is 'in good condition' and that he is 'undergoing tests at a hospital center to assess a possible muscular condition.'"

After concluding the visit in Ascó, the pain worsened, prompting Illa to seek medical attention. The sports injury forced the suspension of the rest of his planned agenda for Saturday, which included, among other events, the inauguration of a sports center.
Illa's passion for running is widely known. He usually goes out early every morning, whenever his schedule allows. He maintained this habit even during official trips, such as in Japan last May, where he ran several kilometers around the Imperial Palace of Tokyo.
