The Flix municipal plenary session experienced a day of novelties with the incorporation of a new councilor, the unanimous approval of a motion for the normalization of Catalan, and the modification of the public highway ordinance.

The plenary session held last Monday at the Flix Town Hall was marked by the swearing-in of Maite Jordà Galano as a new councilor. The representative of the Junts per Flix – compromís municipal party joins the council, replacing Anna Rosa Garcia Àlvarez, who submitted her resignation on December 29, 2025.
Coinciding with the week dedicated to the language, another highlight of the day was the unanimous approval of a motion for the normalization of Catalan in Flix and support for the Correllengua Agermanat. The approved text emphasizes the desire for Catalan to become the language of cohesion in the municipality.
In the area of municipal management, the council gave the green light to a significant modification of the ordinance regulating the use of public roads. This measure primarily aims to improve urban order and citizen coexistence. The new regulations establish clear guidelines for the occupation of public space by catering establishments.

"Tables, chairs, parasols, and other terrace materials must be collected outside authorized opening hours."

With this modification, the town hall seeks to prevent terrace furniture from obstructing pedestrian passage or interfering with cleaning tasks once the establishments have closed their doors.
