The Ascó Town Council is organizing the XVII Arts and Crafts Fair and the XII Tastavins on May 23rd and 24th, events that highlight popular culture, traditional crafts, and the region's gastronomic and wine heritage.

The municipality of Ascó, in Ribera d'Ebre, is preparing to host the XVII Arts and Crafts Fair and the XII Tastavins on May 23rd and 24th. These events have become benchmarks for popular culture, traditional arts and crafts, and the promotion of the region's gastronomic and wine heritage.
The Arts and Crafts Fair will feature the participation of 78 artisans, all with official certification, from various autonomous communities such as Andalusia, Valencia, and Aragon. Thirteen of the fifteen recognized artisan craft categories by the Generalitat de Catalunya will be represented, including disciplines like ceramics, leather, iron, wood, and glass.
The event will offer 22 participatory workshops for all ages, led by qualified artisans in techniques such as calligraphy, plant fibers, and pottery. Additionally, there will be stalls selling local products like cured meats, cheeses, liqueurs, jewelry, and minerals. The program includes family activities such as games for children and boat trips on the Ebre River with the tourist boat Lo Roget.
In parallel, the Tastavins will bring together about twenty wineries from four Catalan Designation of Origin regions: DOQ Priorat, DO Montsant, DO Terra Alta, and DO Tarragona, offering an overview of the regional wine scene.

"With these events, we value our traditions and culture, but we also boost local economic activities and, thirdly, we promote leisure and recreation in the municipality and the region, which needs initiatives like these to thrive for all they represent."

Miquel Àngel Ribes · Mayor of Ascó

"Through the Arts and Crafts Fair and the Tastavins, we showcase our municipality and its tourist assets, and we recognize traditional crafts and regional wines, two treasures that we must help promote and preserve as they are a significant part of our identity."

Carolina Baiges · Councillor for Economic Development
