The Department of Agriculture has completed a 513 kWp solar power plant at the Benissanet pumping station to lower energy expenses for local farmers in the Ribera d'Ebre region.

The project, which represents a total investment of 796,116.04 euros, was officially delivered on February 16. It is part of a modernization initiative co-funded by the European EAFRD fund.
The Irrigation Community manages 352 hectares across Benissanet and Miravet, drawing water from the Ebro River. The new solar infrastructure will power the station's high-capacity pumping groups.
This move aligns with the Government's goal to promote energy transition in agriculture, ensuring the sustainability and resilience of rural areas against climate change impacts.
