The facility, boasting a capacity of 513 kW, will serve the Benissanet Irrigation Community. This infrastructure marks a step forward in the energy transition for the agricultural sector, optimizing water pumping through clean energy. The project was officially completed on February 16.
The total investment amounted to 796,116.04 euros, co-financed by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD). In accordance with Catalonia's water legislation, the local irrigation community contributed 30% of the total cost.
The community manages 352 hectares of irrigated land across the municipalities of Benissanet and Miravet. The system draws water from the Ebro River using two major pumping units that will now benefit from the new solar energy supply.
