More than 800 residents gathered in Móra d'Ebre this Sunday to demand the return of the SEM medical helicopter base to the Ribera d'Ebre region.

The demonstration highlighted the critical need for local emergency air transport. Currently, medical helicopters must travel from Reus, which protesters claim doubles the response time for life-threatening conditions like heart attacks or strokes in the Ebre territory.

"If the helicopter had come from Reus instead of Móra, it would have taken more than half an hour, and I probably wouldn't be alive."
