The PSC party in Terres de l'Ebre has submitted motions across Ribera d'Ebre municipalities to pressure Móra d'Ebre into providing land for a new regional heliport.

The current facility has failed to meet aviation safety standards since 2011, leading the service provider to stop operations there. The PSC argues that a new heliport is vital for maintaining rapid and safe emergency medical responses in the area.

"The Government of Salvador Illa has guaranteed at all times that the SEM helicopter will remain in Ribera d'Ebre."

Josep Jaimot · First Deputy Mayor of Ascó
The planned infrastructure will be located within five kilometers of the Móra d'Ebre Regional Hospital. It will serve the SEM medical helicopter, as well as Mossos d'Esquadra and Firefighters, providing 24-hour operational capacity.
While the land dispute continues, emergency flights are temporarily operating from Reus. The PSC emphasizes that the Catalan Government has already secured funding and a backup aircraft to ensure service continuity.
