The works, which began in July 2025, are expected to be completed next autumn. This intervention is fundamental for the safety and fluidity of traffic on a road that records an average daily of 2,726 vehicles.
“"They are a priority for the Diputació de Tarragona, as they will improve the safety and coexistence of users of this road."
The widening of the bridge over the riu Sec will allow the infrastructure to reach 9.1 meters in width, including shoulders and containment systems. To ensure safety and continuity, the works are being carried out by maintaining and reinforcing the existing structure. A provisional alternative bypass in the riu Sec ravine has been previously enabled to divert traffic and facilitate access to the works.
The comprehensive improvement project for the T-324 also includes the widening of the roadway to 8 meters in a two-kilometer section, which will allow the simultaneous passage of vehicles with greater safety. In addition, it includes the improvement of two curves at the access to the waste collection center of Móra d'Ebre and the construction of a 34-meter diameter roundabout at the entrance to the Verdeguera industrial estate. The actions are complemented by the construction of walkable ditches, the improvement of access to farms and roads, the installation of safety barriers, and the renovation of vertical and horizontal signage throughout the road.
