The Consortium of Environmental Policies of Terres de l'Ebre (COPATE) has launched the installation of 58 electric vehicle charging points across the four southern Catalan counties this February 2026.

The project, valued at 2.7 million euros, is fully funded by the Generalitat de Catalunya through the Nuclear Transition Fund. While works are nearly finished in Terra Alta, installation has just begun in Baix Ebre, Montsià, and Ribera d'Ebre.
These 50 kW fast chargers feature a new integrated POS system, allowing users to pay directly with credit cards. This infrastructure aims to bridge the gap in rural mobility and support the region's transition towards a greener economy.

"It will allow us to provide the territory with a public, modern, and accessible fast-charging network."

Ivan Garcia · President of COPATE
