The presentation event, held in her hometown, represented a significant challenge for the author, as the story narrated in the book began precisely in this place and seeks to close a cycle marked by aggressions. The novel follows the life of Aurora, a woman who, after suffering a stroke near the age of 40, discovers a hidden part of her past and begins to investigate what happened to her.
“"It is the story of Aurora, a woman who, near the age of 40, suffers a stroke and realizes, once recovered from the shock, that a large part of her life had remained hidden, that she had suffered amnesia and begins to pull the thread until she discovers what had happened."
Plujà has revealed that a considerable part of Aurora's experience reflects events that happened to her personally, although the novel includes fictional characters and stories. This writing process has been a deep immersion in a narrative that, in her words, "overwhelms," but which has turned out to be an essential part of her own therapeutic process, helping her to close a personal circle.
Ca la tia Justa emerges as an exercise where writing becomes a tool to confront the past. Beyond its personal dimension, the work aims to break silences, generate debate, and give visibility to situations that often remain hidden. With this literary debut, Marta Plujà emphasizes the importance of speaking openly about these experiences, as, according to the journalist, it not only helps to break the silence but also to transform victims into survivors.
