The Meteorological Service of Catalonia (SMC) has updated its rainfall intensity warnings, with records potentially exceeding 20 liters per square meter in 30 minutes from midday. In the Pyrenees, these precipitations could reach up to 70 liters per square meter.
The SMC warning places 16 counties at a danger level of 3 out of 6. These include the entire demarcation of Lleida, the Alt Pirineu (except Val d'Aran), and the inland counties of the demarcation of Barcelona. The showers could be accompanied by strong thunderstorms and severe weather phenomena such as hail, sleet, wind gusts, or squalls.
The heaviest precipitation is expected from the afternoon onwards in the inland counties, the Pyrenees, the Pre-Pyrenees, and Central Catalonia. Localized rainfall in coastal and pre-coastal areas is not ruled out. These will be the most significant precipitations of the week.
For Tuesday, the return of sunshine is anticipated, although some clouds and lighter showers are expected to persist. It is important to note that Civil Protection had maintained an alert for Sunday in the Terres de l'Ebre, but the latest update from Meteocat has removed these warnings.
During the early hours of Saturday to Sunday, rainfall was scarce, with less than 3 liters per square meter recorded in areas like l'Hospitalet de l'Infant or Amposta. However, on Sunday evening, more significant precipitation was recorded, such as 22 liters per square meter in Camprodon (Ripollès), accompanied by hail and sleet.

Civil Protection emphasizes the importance of taking extreme precautions, especially concerning mobility. It is recommended not to cross rivers, streams, or flood-prone areas, either on foot or by vehicle, and to avoid parking in low-lying areas susceptible to flooding. It is also advised not to approach riverbeds, even if it is not raining at the moment.
For drivers, it is suggested to reduce speed, increase safety distance, and preferably use main roads. If water enters the vehicle, exit immediately if it can be done safely and move to higher ground. Those at home are advised not to go down to basements or low-lying areas if water enters, and to follow official information.
