Three strategic routes in Catalunya, the C-16 (Llobregat Axis), the C-17 (Vic-Ripoll Axis), and the Eix d’Aro (C-35, C-65, and C-31), are undergoing pavement improvements to enhance road safety and reduce their carbon footprint.

The works, carried out by concessionaire CEDINSA, incorporate asphalt mixtures that improve material sustainability and circularity, while optimizing road conditions and lifespan. These upgrades are part of the annual conservation and maintenance campaign.
On the C-16, between Sant Fruitós de Bages and Berga, 40 kilometers of work were completed this summer, improving 42,000 m² of pavement with 2,450 tons of asphalt mix including steel slag aggregate.
On the C-17, between Centelles and Ripoll, the works concluded in September, with 80,000 m² of pavement improved and 7,850 tons of asphalt mix laid over its 48 kilometers.
The Eix d’Aro, encompassing the C-35, C-65, and C-31 between Maçanet de la Selva and Platja d’Aro, will see its 27 kilometers improved during October, with an estimated 42,000 m² of pavement and 1,800 tons of asphalt.
These preventive actions are crucial for maintaining infrastructure in optimal condition, extending its durability, and optimizing resources, thereby ensuring high standards of safety and comfort for thousands of daily users.
