The main objective is to optimize water usage, an initiative aiming to make Camprodon the Catalan municipality that best manages this resource. The works include replacing asbestos-cement pipes with new PVC ones in key locations such as Carrer Monestir and Carrer Llandrius, up to the municipal swimming pool. These interventions will also allow for the renovation of damaged sidewalks and the resolution of recurring leakage problems.
The governing team also plans to remodel the water network in Carrer Costinyola, where constant problems have been detected. These actions are part of a broader plan to enhance the municipality's water efficiency, which already approaches 80% usage. The mayor, Xavi Guitart, has expressed pride in the work done, highlighting that Camprodon has not suffered from water shortages despite droughts and tourist influx.
The total investment, which includes improvements to the Font-rubí water network and the Beget water catchment, amounts to nearly half a million euros. This project is supported by three grants from the Catalan Water Agency.
