The first day of the 22nd Germans Vila Riera Tournament, organized by FEC Vall del Ter, brought together young footballers from the U9 and U10 categories at the sports facilities in Camprodon. UE Quart emerged as champions in both categories, defeating the hosts in the U9 final and EF Gironès-Sàbat in the U10 final. A total of sixteen teams participated in this competition, marking the end of the 2025-2026 season and creating a festive atmosphere.
The sporting director of FEC, David Martí, highlighted the significance of these events: "We bring a lot of people to these tournaments. There are eight teams per category, around sixty teams from Girona, Maresme, or Barcelona who will pass through Camprodon and Sant Joan over these three weekends."
On Sunday, basketball took center stage with the inaugural tournament organized by FEC Vall del Ter. Six teams competed in the pre-infantile male and female categories. Martí positively assessed the debut: "It's perfect as a year-end closing. The children have fun and enjoy finishing the season at home."
In the men's final, CB Campdevànol defeated FEC Vall del Ter, while the local female players won the final against UE Ripoll. "Having teams from the region boosts sports in Ripollès," stated Martí, who expressed the desire to expand the tournament to other categories in future editions.
The tournament will continue this weekend with the U7 and U8 football categories at the Camp de la Vila in Camprodon, followed by the U11 and U12 categories. Subsequently, from June 13th to 14th, the competition will move to Sant Joan de les Abadesses for the U13 and U14 categories.
