The sanitation works, benefiting three private homes (la Comarrúbia, Cal Magí, and Cal Xicot), are part of this year's Catalan Public Works and Services Plan (PUOSC). This action represents a significant step forward for the municipality's urban sanitation.
The mayor, Cèsar Ollé, expressed regret that this project could not be advanced in the previous legislature, although he acknowledges that another sector of houses, from Plaça del Roser to Pare Coll, still remains pending. The intention is to have the network ready for the future installation of a treatment plant, a project whose timeline is pending from the County Council and ACA.
The completion of this work will allow for the collection of wastewater from these houses, which currently discharge directly into the river due to their location, and send it towards the Pont Xic area, where the treatment plant is planned to be located. If it cannot be done all at once, a phased approach is being considered.
Conversely, the sewer connection for more isolated houses or areas like El Cortal is currently ruled out due to the distance from the urban center.
