The first Table for Campdevànol Hospital will take place at the beginning of September, specifically on Tuesday, September 8 at 4 PM. This meeting, initiated by the governing team, aims to debate and reach consensus agreements on the future of the healthcare center.
The plenary session of the Ripollès Regional Council, initially expected to be calm before the August recess, was marked by an intense debate on the situation and future of the Campdevànol Hospital. The question regarding the convening of the table, announced months ago by the Junts group, opened a discussion where councilors presented their positions, in a context some described as pre-election campaigning, particularly following a motion approved in the Parliament of Catalonia to guarantee the quality of healthcare services.
The spokesperson for Junts, Oriol Lázaro, accused the governing team of blocking progress on the issue: 'You have blocked us, who have tried to contribute and move forward, and you have not convened the table,' he stated to initiate the discussion.
The first vice-president of the council, Chantal Pérez, defended the governing team's management. She questioned Mr. Lázaro's presence at key moments and pointed out that, with new healthcare areas not yet operational, patients are already being diverted to the Trueta Hospital in Girona, a situation that affected municipalities deny.
Meanwhile, the spokesperson for Moviment d’Esquerres, Ramon Roqué, called for political responsibility if patients end up choosing the hospital in Olot over Campdevànol, stating that 'Campdevànol will have to face it, and the political leaders responsible for this situation will also have to face it.'
In addition to this debate, the plenary session addressed other procedural points and approved motions. These included voting against the current version of the PLATER, requesting the implementation of a medium-grade cycle for railway maintenance in Ripoll, and recognizing the labor rights of volunteer firefighters.
