The Catalan Government has announced a large-scale police operation involving nearly 4,500 officers for the Tour de France's presence in Catalonia on July 2nd, 4th, 5th, and 6th. This special operation will lead to significant mobility disruptions in approximately sixty municipalities and a dozen main roads.
The most substantial traffic restrictions will occur between Sunday, July 5th, and Monday, July 6th. On Sunday, the stage connecting Tarragona and Barcelona will cause disruptions on the N-340 and C-31 for much of the afternoon. To mitigate these issues, patrols on the AP-7 will be reinforced with an additional northbound lane between Vilafranca del Penedès and Barcelona, and the toll on the C-32 will be waived between 11 AM and 4 PM.
Regarding Monday, a working day, the stage from Granollers to the Pyrenees will affect routes such as the C-352, C-59, C-17, C-37, C-25, and the N-260 between 12 PM and 4 PM. The Ripollès region will experience the most severe impact, with an estimated road isolation of about 4 hours for towns like Ribes, Planoles, Toses, and La Molina.
