The Partit dels Socialistes de Catalunya (PSC) is actively seeking new councillors for Ripoll, following the dissolution of its local group and the resignation of two councillors who abstained from the municipal budget vote.

The spokesperson for the PSC, Lluïsa Moret, confirmed that the party's federation in the Girona regions is making progress in incorporating new leadership for the municipality. These new representatives were not part of the original electoral list for the party in Ripoll.

"Work is underway to form a new municipal group composed of new individuals."

The decision to dissolve the Ripoll group and establish a management committee was made last Tuesday. This measure resulted from the forced resignation of the two councillors who abstained during the budget vote presented by the mayor, Sílvia Orriols.
The socialist federation justified its actions by stating that the councillors had offered their resignations and that the "red line of not making agreements with the far-right must be respected throughout Catalonia".
