Train services on the R3 Rodalies line resumed this Wednesday between la Garriga and Ripoll, ending a 50-day suspension caused by the Gelida accident.

The service currently operates with one train per hour in each direction. Speed restrictions remain in place in several sections for safety reasons, meaning the alternative bus service will continue to support commuters for the time being.
While this section has reopened, the line remains closed from Ripoll to la Tor de Querol. Authorities have used the shutdown to accelerate planned upgrades to the Toses and Ribes de Freser tunnels, moving forward work originally scheduled for 2027.
The southern stretch between l'Hospitalet de Llobregat and la Garriga will stay closed until next year. This is due to ongoing track doubling projects in the Vallès region and the major renovation of the Montcada Bifurcació station.
