Due to high temperatures and drought, the risk of forest fires has increased in the municipality's natural environment, particularly in the Font del Tòtil recreational area. The situation is exacerbated by the uncontrolled use of barbecues and the presence of dry vegetation, posing an imminent danger.
Furthermore, overcrowding has been observed at the Font del Tòtil, along with unauthorized river bathing. This situation creates coexistence problems, disrupts the river ecosystem, and endangers user safety due to a lack of specific surveillance.
Although municipal regulations require updating, the severity of the events has prompted provisional measures. The mayor informed the council on June 30, 2026, about the issues and the need for action.
Through a mayoral decree, the following restrictions have been established at the Font del Tòtil:
- Access to the recreational area will be restricted during hours or risk situations determined by the Local Police to prevent overcrowding.
- The use of barbecues and any activity involving fire or incandescent elements is expressly prohibited throughout the natural environment due to the high risk of forest fires.
- Bathing in the river section of the Font del Tòtil is prohibited for safety, health, and river ecosystem protection reasons, as it is not an authorized or supervised area.
