The project aims to facilitate understanding and navigation for all citizens within public spaces. The designs, already visible on the facade of the Town Hall, were created by students seeking to integrate these visual elements into the town's daily language.
The pictograms used are universal and were created using the ARASAAC system, a tool specialized in augmentative and alternative communication. This methodology ensures that symbols are easily recognizable for everyone, regardless of their communication abilities.
“"It is very important that they take ownership of these projects and participate actively. Pictograms are something we should have more integrated."
The collaboration between the school and the local government will allow this signage to be extended to various points of interest in the town, such as the soccer field, the municipal swimming pool, and the Ethnographic Museum. According to municipal sources, this measure represents a step forward in the inclusion and accessibility policy being promoted in the town.
