The Ripoll City Council started its fleet renewal for the public works brigade this week with the presentation of a new multi-purpose machine. This equipment is highly versatile, comes with various attachments, and can perform a wide range of tasks, addressing the need to reduce spending on repairs for older vehicles.
According to Sílvia Orriols, the mayor of Ripoll, nearly 11,000 euros were spent on municipal vehicle repairs in 2025. Given this amount, the decision was made to renew the fleet, which includes three vans (two for public works and one for cleaning), three trucks, and the new multi-purpose vehicle.
The renewal is being carried out through a 4-year rental contract, with an approximate annual cost of 100,000 euros, covered by the municipal budget. The supplying company highlights the new machine's capability to perform tasks year-round, from preparing for events like local festivals to daily construction work or snow removal.
The remaining six vehicles are expected to arrive soon to complete the fleet renewal for the public works brigade.
