The Ripollès Slaughterhouse facilities begin a comprehensive renovation this Tuesday to comply with current regulations, with a total budget of one million euros funded by various administrations.

The project, made possible through an agreement with the managing company ERSA, includes a 240,000-euro subsidy provided by the Ripollès County Council. The intervention aims primarily to improve waste management, as well as to renovate stables and cold storage chambers.
The start of the work, initially scheduled for Monday, was moved to Tuesday due to traffic disruptions caused by the Tour de France passing through the region. The works are expected to be completed by the end of September.
Currently, the slaughterhouse serves around eighty livestock farms. According to county sources, this infrastructure is essential for the primary sector and for maintaining economic activity in a mountain region, helping to retain the population in the area.
