The city of Ripoll hosted the sixth edition of the Women's Run on Sunday, a festive and solidarity event that mobilized hundreds of people. This year, participation reached 670 registered runners, and the total amount raised was 7,716 euros, surpassing the 7,549 euros from the previous edition. The funds collected will be entirely donated to Oncolliga del Ripollès, an organization that supports cancer patients and their families.
The event was attended by the mayor of Ripoll, Sílvia Orriols, and the delegate of Oncolliga Ripollès, Vevi Fraile, who expressed their gratitude for the community's strong solidarity. City council members and speaker MartyFerr also participated. Following the race, Lluís Ruiz led a stretching session for all attendees.
In keeping with tradition, the youngest participant, Aura Vergés, just a few months old, and the oldest, Montserrat Comamala Vilanova, aged 89, were honored, symbolizing the unity of different generations in the fight against cancer. During the event, t-shirts were sold and donations were made, contributing to the final fundraising total.
Several collaborating establishments made donations, and a product raffle was held. Unclaimed prizes can be collected on Friday, September 25th, between 5 PM and 7 PM at the Oncolliga office (plaça Llibertat, 5), where reserved t-shirts will also be available.
The Ripoll City Council has expressed its heartfelt thanks to everyone involved in the organization, including Oncolliga, Fundació MAP, Protecció Civil, Policia Local, Creu Roja, collaborators, volunteers, and local businesses.
