The Majèstic Cinemas in Tàrrega held a surprise screening this Tuesday of the film Balandrau, vent salvatge, which depicts the blizzard tragedy that claimed nine lives in the Ripollès region.

The event featured producer Tono Folguera, who shared insights into the technical challenges of recreating the 25-year-old disaster. The production required extensive special effects to simulate the extreme weather conditions of the Pyrenees.

"The project was a real challenge, with a technical ambition that is unusual, especially for a Catalan-language production."

The film's team had to move filming locations from Vallter to Vall de Boí due to lack of snow, spending five months in post-production to achieve a realistic portrayal of the storm that affected the Ripollès area.
Pere Aumedes, manager of Circuit Urgellenc, stated that these surprise screenings will become a regular feature in Tàrrega to encourage audience engagement with local cinema.
