The works, which began at the start of last month, involve the complete replacement of the old sewage systems. These efforts have been largely funded by the Generalitat's Single Plan for Works and Services, with a contribution of 320,000 euros. The project has necessitated the removal of all paving in the urban center to facilitate the installation of new pipes.
The mayor, Esteve Font, explained that on Milany and Capella streets, the pavement had to be lifted to install the new sewage system, connecting all houses. Currently, gravel is being laid, and access to all homes is guaranteed despite the inconvenience.
Concurrently, work will commence on the water network, a project subsidized by the ACA with approximately 100,000 euros. During the installation of provisional pipes and the commissioning of the new network, temporary supply interruptions are planned, expected to conclude in autumn. Once underground work is finished, new paving will be laid, enhancing the medieval center's appearance.
This subsidy from the Catalan Water Agency has also enabled improvements to the water service for several farmhouses within the municipality.
