Two climbers, aged 45 and 46, were rescued this morning by the Generalitat Firefighters after spending the night in a crevice on the Catalunya wall of the Mont-rebei Gorge, in Sant Esteve de la Sarga (Pallars Jussà). The men were unharmed.

The climbers were caught by darkness about 80 meters from the summit while ascending the Via del Corb route. Despite having sufficient equipment to spend the night, they contacted emergency services (112) to report their situation. Firefighters received the alert at 00:46 and, after assessing the situation, opted for an aerial rescue once daylight broke to ensure safety.
The operation was carried out using a helicopter from the GRAE Muntanya unit of La Seu d'Urgell and a SEM (Emergency Medical System) doctor. After locating the victims shortly after 07:30, the rescue team descended to the crevice and confirmed the climbers were well, despite having experienced cold. Finally, at 10:48, they were successfully extracted by helicopter crane and declared unharmed by SEM.
On Sunday, October 25th, the Generalitat Firefighters also conducted other rescues in various Catalan locations: a 51-year-old injured cyclist in Tagamanent, a 55-year-old mushroom picker in Ripoll with a foot injury, an excursionist with a foot injury in Sant Joan de Vilatorrada, and a 73-year-old woman who fell down an embankment in Montferri.
