The interruption affects the section of the RL4 line, which connects Lleida Pirineus with Terrassa Estació del Nord, and the RL3 line, which runs between Lleida Pirineus and Cervera. The decision was made on Thursday, January 29, 2026, in the afternoon as a precautionary measure.
The alert was issued by Protecció Civil, citing sources from Adif, the railway infrastructure manager. The main reason for the suspension is the imminent danger of earth or rock slides onto the railway infrastructure in the affected section.
Due to ongoing transport issues in the area, the RL4 line already had an alternative road service running between Terrassa and Cervera. Renfe has now announced that these buses will extend their route to Tàrrega to cover the halted rail section, serving both the RL4 and RL3 lines.
