The A-2 highway passing through the Segarra region experienced a chaotic day last Friday as severe asphalt deterioration led to dozens of vehicle breakdowns.

The road conditions on the main highway crossing Segarra have reached a breaking point. Last Friday, between 17:00 and 23:00, the Grues Ametllers company from Cervera performed over thirty rescues for stranded drivers. Most vehicles suffered from punctured or blown-out tires, while others reported shattered windshields caused by flying asphalt debris.

"All the cars had punctured tires and some even had broken windows due to asphalt debris."

Beyond safety risks, the poor state of the road is causing issues with insurance companies, which in some cases are refusing to renew policies due to the high frequency of incidents in this specific location.
